My all time favorite dessert when I was growing up was a Hot Fudge Sundae Cake from Big Boys Restaurant. Every chance I got, I ordered the ooey gooey hot cake with chocolate syrup running down from the top to the sides to the bottom of the cake bathing in chocolate. No other cake could compare. However, since growing up, I moved away from the Midwest and have not found a solution to the Hot Fudge Sundae Cake I love so much. Until now, I wanted to make a dessert that was similar to that of my childhood, that taste amazing and did not take a long time to make. For this recipe you only need a few ingredients, a store bought chocolate cake, chocolate fudge topping, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and maraschino cherries.

In order for this recipe to work you will want to cut thick slices, they should be even in comparison at least a 1/2 -1 inch.

Once the cake slices are cut, go ahead and pour as much fudge syrup on the cakes as you like. By using a cake from the store, you can make 4-5 servings from the 1/2 cut store bought chocolate cake. This step will ensure your cake is very moist when serving.

To prep for the hot fudge cake, take your ice cream out the freezer for 5-10 minutes so it will be a little easier to scoop.
Adding the hot fudge to the cake slices and warming the slices will give the cake another layer of flavor and moisture.
Once you have warmed the cakes, you must let them cool just a little bit, or your ice cream will melt in 5 secs, lol. Next, scoop some ice cream on the bottom layer of the cake and assemble the other moist chocolate cake on top on the ice cream.
Preparing your Cake

Now, add your whip cream, as much as you like. Drizzle with chocolate and add your cherry on top.
