Hey, y’all. So as some of you may know. I am on this new discovery journey with pumpkin pie. I also strive to bring you a variety of recipes that you can make at home, it’s delicious and saves you time and most importantly, no one will even know you bought it from the store. I wanted to make a pumpkin pie cheesecake (which I did make and everybody, I mean everybody loved it!). I wanted it to be quick, delicious, and effective. I also didn’t feel like making my own pie crust that day. I didn’t have time. So, I opted for a Large Keebler graham cracker crust. Now that I got the crust. I had to decide how was I going to add flavor to this crust.  A.K.A, do not make the crust shoutout “STORE-BOUGHT” to your guest.

So, I did a blind taste test, I didn’t mention anything to anyone. I was expecting someone to comment on the pumpkin cheesecake but to my surprise, they mention the crust before anything else. They asked, what did you do to the crust?  That made me happy!

So, I’m going to share with you exactly what I did to make store-bought Keebler crust taste better.

2 words, 2 ingredients

Cinnamon

Butter

That’s what I did. I melted some butter and spread it around the crust, I then sprinkled some cinnamon on the crust and I let the pie crust sit for about 20 – 30 minutes.

Now, another misconception was, no one knew if a store-bought crust could be put in the oven. Well, guess what? I baked it, filled with cheesecake for about 40 minutes. It came out beautifully.

The crust was baked with cinnamon butter, with creamy cheesecake and pumpkin pie on top. Y’all it was simply delicious. The crust wasn’t too greasy or flaky. To me it was perfect.

This crust elevation is a keeper. May I remind you that you can make this recipe with any pie filling? Don’t be afraid to mix different flavors (think about vanilla extract, nutmeg, lemon zest, etc). You got this!

Instructions

  1. Remove all plastic from pie crust – keep in the aluminum pan
  2. Melt butter and spread over the pie crust
  3. After you have applied the butter, now sprinkle the cinnamon all over the pie crust.
  4. Let the spices marinate for 20 minutes before you add the pie crust.
