Were you planning a cultural night in your home to get everyone in your family or group pumped about the upcoming vacation to the Ocean View Villa in Ocho Rios, Jamaica?

You provide the entertainment, and we’ll give the beverage menu! Here are a few drink ideas that you’ll likely be able to either purchase in your local grocery stores or mix up in your kitchen. They will be sure to get everyone in a Jamaican mood.

Non Alcoholic Drinks:

  • Carrot, mango, pineapple, or guava juice
  • Ginger beer
  • Coffee (You can purchase Blue Mountain Coffee brand online!)

Alcoholic Drinks:

  • Red Stripe, Tallawah, or Rumbar (Some classic Jamaican beers)
  • Traditional Jamaican Rum Punch
  • Pina Colada
  • Hummingbird Cocktail

Never made a Rum Punch before? We have provided the recipe for your enjoyment. It is best served with local Jamaican Rum, but most brands will suffice.

Traditional Jamaican Rum Punch

  • 1 cup of lime juice
  • 2 cups of cherry or strawberry syrup (Grenadine will also work)
  • 2 cups of white Jamaican Rum
  • 2 cups of fresh pineapple juice
  • 2 cups of fresh orange juice
  • One pinch of grated nutmeg

Pour in all ingredients over ice. Garnish with slices of orange or pineapple if desired. This recipe tastes the best using fresh lime, orange, and pineapple juice. The nutmeg is optional.
